North Wales operator Williams Haulage has taken delivery of a new Cartwright double deck curtainsider for its major contract with a cupcakes customer following its excellent experience renting the company’s trailers.

The Denbighshire based firm, which was founded 45 years ago and remains an independent family concern, has expanded considerably in recent years as demand for its global logistics solutions and outstanding service has attracted new customers.

The organisation prides itself not only on its service levels and on demand logistics solutions, but also its commitment to an environmentally responsible policy of reducing CO2 emissions and minimising its own carbon footprint.

Indeed, the order for the new double deck curtainsider with lifting deck from Cartwright includes a Cheetah GS sloping front roof design to improve fuel efficiency.

The Cartwright double deck trailer adds to Williams Haulage’s fleet of 39 vehicles including rigids, flats and artics. Its policy is to tailor its vehicle fleet in order to meet customer requirements in its key markets which include contract logistics for UK and international contracts.

Huw Williams, Managing Director of Williams Haulage, commented: “We have had an excellent customer experience with Cartwright over the past couple of years renting their trailers and this has led to us purchasing our first trailer from them for operating this major client contract.

“We have been impressed with Cartwright particularly in terms of their quality. Their products are built to last and, from point of order to delivery, the service has been seamless.”

He added: “Our expanding contract with this particular customer, which delivers its products to supermarkets, has led to a need to acquire a new build trailer to meet the customer’s growing requirements, effectively improving the finished goods supply chain.

“As far as this customer is concerned you could say it’s the icing on the cake!

“You get 41 pallets on this Cartwright trailer whereas you normally only get 26 pallets which obviously adds value to the whole operation.”
