Maritime Transport (Maritime) have taken delivery of ten new Genset Trailers.
The new Gensets were ordered from Dutch Company Carrier and have recently been delivered to Maritime’s depot in Felixstowe, the largest in their network.
This most recent delivery adds to Maritime’s growing fleet of over 2,000 trailers and will support the business on a number of contracts.
“We placed the order with Carrier knowing they specialise in making Gensets” said Mark Bloom, Regional Engineer, Maritime Transport. “They were imported all the way from Georgia, USA, with the help of our Freight Management expert, Steve Parry, and once they arrived they were passed onto RTJ Trailers so that they could be fitted to our new, adapted Sliding Skeletal Trailers from Dennison.”
“We are continuing to see rapid growth from across the business” said Tom Williams, General Manager at Maritime. “The newly adapted Genset Trailers will be an asset to our operation where we continue to move more and more fresh produce supporting the container transport side of the business which sees over 11,000 container moves every week.”
Maritime have recently announced the opening of a new depot at DP World London Gateway bringing their comprehensive UK depot network to a total of 25. “An increase in our depot network means an increase in fleet size too” said Stuart Wardlaw, Fleet Engineer for Maritime. “We’re expecting to continue to grow the fleet and our ten new Genset Trailers are a great start to this expansion.”
