Sector world-leader will increase its Sheffield-based technical workforce by almost 50% in the first quarter of 2016

Fast-growth telematics firm The Floow is meeting increased demand for services from new and existing customers by embarking on an accelerated recruitment drive that will see it grow its Sheffield-based technical workforce by almost 50% in the first quarter of 2016.

The move follows a year of significant development for the company in which it built on its relationship with Direct Line in the UK, and launched telematics-based products with a number of blue chip clients in Canada, Ireland and the US – including the country’s leading roadside assistance service provider AAA.

2015 also saw The Floow, recognised as the ‘driving force of innovation’ in telematics, announce a commitment to partner with leading Chinese car service organisation Beijing CarSmart Technology Co (“CarSmart”).

Strong demand from an increasingly diverse customer base –including leading insurers, car manufacturers and roadside assistance providers across the globe – sees the company’s management team now reaching out to technical candidates at all levels.

“2015 was a very busy year for The Floow, with 2016 looking even stronger thanks to a number of commitments with partners worldwide,” said Co-founder and CEO Aldo Monteforte.

“We believe that success brings with it responsibilities, and we are equipping The Floow to meet the extraordinary opportunity the market is offering us.

“Our global client base expect uncompromising commitment to remaining at the bleeding edge of telematics innovation. We have therefore decided to accelerate our investment in talented resources, building on the incredible team in place in Sheffield.”

The firm, built on the vision to make vehicles, and driving, safer and cheaper for all, is now looking to fill 20 new positions across all its technical teams, and is calling on additional mobile developers (Android and iOS), quality assurance engineers, platform engineers and data scientists to join its eminent team of computer science, data mining, driver psychology and user experience experts.

Aldo Monteforte said: “A key motivation in founding The Floow was the creation of a professional platform where every resource can stretch and unlock their potential without limits to talent and character. I believe any success we have met originates from our workplace and culture. Our colleagues at The Floow find an extraordinary context for professional and personal growth supported by training and development.

“We’re proud of our Sheffield roots and links with both of the City’s universities, and also the diversity of our people, coming from leading computer science, physics, aerospace engineering and mathematics courses as close to home as York, Warwick and Oxford, and as far afield as Germany, India and China.

“In 2016 we are looking forward to welcoming to our team a new cohort of game changers, and together delivering safer and smarter mobility for all.”

In July The Floow’s Aldo Monteforte accompanied Prime Minister David Cameron on a trade mission to Asia; with the company also recently identified as one of Tech City’s Future Fifty.

Since its foundation in 2012 the company’s revenues have almost doubled year-on-year, with the business now firmly established as world leader in the field of telematics data management – delivering the world’s most advanced telematics data management solutions through device-agnostic predictive analytics and digital end-user services.
