The RHA truck training simulator proved a hit with students and a YouTube celebrity in Manchester today (19 April).
The JD Foundation organised the interactive careers fair in Manchester Central Conference Centre to showcase career opportunities at JD Group, including haulage. Students aged 14-18 engaged with representatives of multiple industries as potential future careers.
British YouTube sensation and MOBO Award winner Chunkz, who boasts over 8 million social media followers, took the wheel of our driving simulator alongside many event attendees.
RHA Training use the state-of-the-art simulator to help train new drivers. It can be set to replicate different road and weather conditions to give future drivers a true reflection of life on the road.
We took the simulator across the country during our recent National Coach Week and the UK Coach Rally in Blackpool. It’s been enjoyed by likes of Transport Secretary Mark Harper and Roads Minister Guy Opperman at events.
Visitors to next week’s CV Show taking place at Birmingham’s NEC 23-25 April will also be invited to try it out.
Laura Taylor, HR Director, said: “It was great to see so many young people take an interest in our industry. We’d like to thank The JD Foundation for arranging this event and allowing teenagers the chance to find careers that inspire them in our sector.”
Equipping young people with skills that last a lifetime is one of our key campaigning priorities. You can find out more about what we are doing to get more people in the industry HERE.
