UNITE union bosses are apologising to both retailers and the public today as Jet drivers have begun a seven day strike starting yesterday.
Around 91 contract workers employed by the road haulage firm Wincanton, turned off their engines in the dispute over workers’ pay, terms and conditions.
Unite warns that the company proposes pay cuts of up to 20 per cent and an attack on workers’ pensions.
The dispute will disrupt fuel supplies to the UK’s 380 Jet forecourts, which are owned by the Texas-based oil giant ConocoPhillips.
