North London-based utility solutions provider, Stanmore Quality Services (SQS), is taking delivery of 25 new Isuzu N75.150(E) trucks, ordered after the business was impressed by the first of the manufacturer’s 7.5-tonners acquired in early 2023.

The new trucks are set to replace older vehicles from another manufacturer in SQS’s 40-strong 7.5-tonne fleet – a weight category in which Isuzu Truck UK was the market leader in 2023.

James Gupwell, Transport Director for SQS, says: “I’ve always been impressed by the Isuzu product, so when the time came to begin refreshing our 7.5-tonners last year, the brand was top of our shopping list. As soon as we got the first trucks on the road, we knew we wanted to transition the rest of our 7.5-tonners to Isuzu as vehicles came up for replacement at five years old. This order for 25 is a significant statement of that intention.

“As a business, we place great emphasis on sustainability and minimising our environmental impact – which of course includes our vehicles. This is why we have turned to Isuzu, whose modern drivetrains deliver outstanding fuel efficiency and performance.”

The new N75.150(E) chassis cabs have each been mounted with an insulated tarmac tipping body from Southern Vehicle Bodies. Primarily used to support road repair following the completion of utility works, the trucks are designed to maintain required load temperatures during transport to allow the new surfacing material to be laid immediately upon arrival.

Gupwell continues: “We have been very pleased with how seamlessly the Isuzu trucks have fitted into our operation. They are compact, extremely manoeuvrable, and offer excellent load capacity, which makes them our go-to trucks for any urban work. They are also tough and durable, which is crucial in our industry; although if anything does go wrong, we know we can rely on outstanding support from the Isuzu dealer network.”

The new Isuzu trucks join a mixed fleet of more than 400 commercial vehicles, ranging from 3.5 to 32-tonnes. Fitted with a camera system and a full telematics package, they will be on the road six days a week, averaging 30,000 miles a year.

Like all new vehicles delivered by Isuzu Truck UK, they come with a three-year, unlimited mileage warranty, which includes roadside assistance and are backed by Isuzu Truck UK’s Customer CARE programme. The SQS team work closely with its nearest Isuzu Truck dealer, DT Trucks, as well as National Fleet Sales Manager, Lee Tansley. All servicing will be managed through DT Trucks and the Isuzu dealer network, with the vehicles operating from SQS’s five depots.

Established more than 25 years ago, SQS provides excavation, engineering, reinstatement, highways maintenance and civil works to customers across the Southeast of England.
