Britannia Chassis Master improved with increased efficiency and lower operating costs

Smith Bros & Webb, the leading provider of commercial vehicle and train automated washing systems, has further expanded its product portfolio with the launch of a new under chassis wash spray system which is believed to be the most advanced available in the UK.

Following extensive research and development, the company has totally re-designed its original Chassis Master machine which is already renowned as the best under chassis wash currently on the market.

Fully compliant with MOT standards, the new Chassis Master retains Smith Brothers & Webb’s proven wash jet system offering both lower operating costs and increased reliability. It also dispenses with the need for hot water or chemicals to provide even greater cost efficiencies.

It is easy to operate and has been resigned to have less maintenance costs.

Microprocessor-controlled, the new machine features twin shaft high pressure plunger pump (dual) operating at up to 45 bar pressure at the jets.  The running frame has been constructed in hot dip galvanised steel and has been re-designed to drive without the use of cable drums or being pulled under its own services.

Offering total flexibility the new Chassis Master fabricated in a stainless steel enclosure, can accommodate multiple vehicle sizes and can also be constructed to a customer’s requirements in varying lengths, starting from a 12-metre wash track, then extending to 15 metres, 18 metres, and upwards in steps of 3 metres. The control panel is able to identify vehicle length.

A typical wash cycle is 20 minutes.  High energy cold water is directed on the chassis by the swinging arm and oscillating nozzle head.  Nozzle angles are designed to ensure effective coverage of the chassis.

At the end of each cycle the Chassis Master self-cleans on the return back to the homing position.

Andy Barracliffe, Director, of Smith Bros. & Webb, said: “Our new Britannia Chassis Master surpasses all other products in the market and is truly best in class.

“We have listened to our customers and incorporated features in the new Chassis Master that we are confident will exceed all expectations. The fact that we have improved efficiency, lowered operating costs and reduced maintenance requirements while still offering exceptional wash performance makes it a compelling proposition.”

For customers who require unrivalled reliability regardless of winter weather conditions, there is the option of fitting Britannia’s frost protection system to their bespoke Chassis Master machine.

Smith Brothers & Webb has a world-wide reputation for its unsurpassed quality of automated washing machines for bus, truck, municipal vehicle and train washing machines that are manufactured at its premises in Alcester, Warwickshire.

With approaching 2000 systems installed worldwide, the company has its own team of engineers and offers support and maintenance packages that ensure the smooth running of its machines, with minimal downtime.
