Concrete equipment specialist, The Utranazz Group, has supplied Halifax based, Spot-On Concrete, with a custom-made Sermac Zenith 4Z27 SCL130A concrete pump mounted on the chassis of a Scania P-Series. Combining the reliability of the Swedish marque with the advanced performance available from the compact 4Z27 really measured up for them.

Sourced through Milton Keynes dealer, TruckEast Limited, the Scania P320 DB 4×2 HNA rigid is fitted with a 6-cylinder, 9-litre 320hp engine and 12-speed manual transmission system. Equipped with the short cab, the new 18-tonner provides an optimal workspace, designed for both comfort and practicality.

Predominantly operating in and around the city centres of Leeds and Manchester, the new rigid is an ideal specification in both its cab and concrete pump.  Spot-On Concrete previously used a line pump directly from a tanker; however, due to the nature of their working environment they opted to increase flexibility and performance with their latest purchase. Fitted directly at the Sermac factory in Milan, the concrete pump is capable of delivering outputs of up-to 130m3 per hour at a pressure of up-to 61 bars. A good all-rounder, it boasts all the advantages of a larger unit, whilst benefitting from its compact specification. Maximum manoeuvrability is achieved through the Z-fold opening, which allows the placing boom to unfold to its full reach of 26.4m at a height of just 6m making it a perfect choice for city sites where space is often restricted.

As such a large investment, the decision for a Scania Chassis was simple, something that would meet the gruelling daily challenges of a construction environment and ultimately stand the test of time.

“We operate nine Scania P Series and in our opinion, they are the most suited and reliable HGV available on the market for our line of work,” comments Richard Hopkinson, Operations Manager at Spot-On Concrete.
