The new vehicles are being supplied to DS Smith Recycling on a five-year contract hire basis with full maintenance covering the chassis, trailers, and ancilliaries, including the bin lifts on the rear end loaders. Delivery of the new vehicles has commenced and will continue into the middle of 2017.

Ryder works closely with us to ensure that we have exactly the right specification of vehicle for each element of our business to achieve our operational objectives. At the same time, this is specialised equipment and downtime needs to be avoided at all cost. These vehicles are worked extremely hard and knowing that Ryder has the expertise and service back up to ensure we maintain compliance and uptime is critical.”

John Murray, Ryder sales and marketing director, said: “We are delighted to be supplying further specialised vehicles to DS Smith Recycling. This latest order builds on our successful long-term relationship with the company, and with other parts of the DS Smith Group with ‘DS Smith Logistics’ and ‘DS Smith Packaging’.”

“We have developed in-depth knowledge of DS Smith Recycling’s operational requirements, enabling us to work with them and the specialist bodybuilders to develop a vehicle specification that exactly meets their technical and commercial requirements. We look forward to further building on our partnership with DS Smith Recycling and the DS Smith Group.”
