Following an uplift in its business, Kent-based Robin Liquid Waste Disposal Ltd, is increasing its tanker fleet with the addition of a Renault Trucks Range K. The 32-tonne Range K460 8×4 rigid, supplied by Renault Trucks approved dealer, Renault Trucks Essex, has joined the company’s four-strong fleet and is mounted with a bespoke VJ Engineering 4,200 gallon vacuum tanker and equipped with a Jurop 520cfm pump.
The new Range K operates mainly across the South East collecting food waste from major food companies and delivering to farmers’ fields for composting and anaerobic digestion, generating methane gas for electricity production. Previously favourable experiences with Renault Trucks Essex and the previous Kerax model were key factors in Robin Liquid Waste’s vehicle selection.
“Our business is thriving,” explains Director Robin Neal. “I needed an additional, reliable vehicle to cope with the extra demand. The Renault Trucks Range K came up trumps and offers excellent strength and ground clearance which are essential for the work we do. Composting sites and farmers’ fields can get sticky, but the Range K is an absolute powerhouse off road – we can get on and off the fields easily without getting towed off which is crucial in providing an efficient service to our customers.”
Robin continues: “We’ve had Renault trucks from our local dealer before and we have a good working relationship. We’ve also found Renault trucks to be extremely reliable vehicles and they work well for us.”
He also states, “Our drivers think the Range K is easier to drive than a car and there’s even been some driver jealously – they all want to be in the hot seat ! The inside is better, it looks good, pulls well, has plenty of power. It just does the job and you can’t fault it. Even our customers have commented on how nice the new truck is. Overall, I’ve been so impressed that I’m looking to order an additional vehicle in the New Year.”
