ATS Euromaster has become one of the first suppliers of the Techron fuel system cleaning range in Great Britain, allowing the tyre and SMR specialist to offer a further service to improve the efficiency of both fleet and private vehicles.
Techron products (from Chevron Lubricants) are fuel system cleaners that clean vital engine and fuel system components helping to keep engines running the way they should. Techron technology has been independently tested by Emissions Analytics on behalf of Chevron Lubricants and according to their research is proven to keep cars performing at their best in all fuel variants and engine types.
Over time, carbon deposits can collect inside a car’s engine and fuel system and left unchecked, these deposits can result in lower fuel economy, reduced power, hesitation during acceleration, and increased emissions.
Modern petrol and diesel engines are designed to work at their most efficient when they are clean. Maintaining engine cleanliness is more critical than ever as manufacturers now produce engines with finer tolerances where even low levels of deposits can have a major effect on performance.
The independent tests using 22 vehicles at least three years old, including some of the most popular fleet models, have according to Chevron Lubricants demonstrated the potential benefits of these products.
Peter Fairlie, Group Sales Director at ATS Euromaster, says: “We are proud to be able to offer Techron technology to our customers. It’s a new offering from ATS Euromaster and complements our expanding service, maintenance and repair offer.”
The independent tests (the results of which can be viewed at www.techron.com) showed that diesel vehicles can achieve an average 7.6 per cent improvement in fuel efficiency and a 3.4 per cent increase in power, with on average a 6.5 per cent reduction in CO ₂ emissions. The same tests showed petrol vehicles to benefit from an average 8.7 per cent fuel efficiency improvement, with power up by 2.6 per cent, and CO ₂ emissions reductions on average at 7.4 per cent.
Techron can be used in all petrol and diesel cars and light commercials. Since it is recommended that the product is used every six months or 6,000 miles (whichever comes first), many fleet vehicles will only need to use the product twice a year.
Fairlie says: “Fleet managers interested in understanding how Techron can help them run their fleet efficiently should get in touch with their ATS Euromaster contact or their local ATS Euromaster centre stocking the product, as shown on the ATS Euromaster website.”
