The RHA (Road Haulage Association) launched its National Lorry Week campaign on Monday (4 November) in Stroud, Gloucestershire.

The Association, supported by members, Howard Tenens Logistics hosted the event at the Stroud Brewery.

This year’s National Lorry Week – the RHA’s tenth – focuses on promoting skills and careers in the sector, and celebrates the role of the driver and truck.

Guests at the launch event heard from the RHA’s Next Gen group which is a platform for young professionals in RHA membership to help develop solutions to address the challenges and opportunities facing the industry.

A panel of Howard Tenens Logistics apprentices shared about their journeys into the industry.

Moreton Cullimore, RHA chair and Cullimore Group managing director said:

“National Lorry Week is about getting those messages across.”

The campaign’s roadshow is in its third and final week visiting members, sponsors and colleges. The RHA is also taking its driving simulator on the road to give would-be drivers a feel for what it’s like to get behind the wheel on a lorry.
