Walkers Transport, a leading UK transport and logistics company, has implemented financial wellbeing platform Level across its 320 strong workforce to help staff take control of their finances.
The ongoing shortage of haulage drivers in the UK and Europe, exacerbated by Brexit and the Covid-19 pandemic, has seen Walkers take proactive efforts in improving the financial health of those working in the transport and logistics industry.
Staff at Walkers Transport will now benefit form Level’s suite of financial wellbeing services including earned wage access, salary-linked savings, budgeting tools, as well as financial help and guidance from The Money and Pensions Service.
“The health and wellbeing of all our staff is our top priority,” said Jason Scott, Group Managing Director at Walkers Transport. “Partnering with Level means our workforce have access to a wide range of tools to help them manage their money better. With our industry in the spotlight like never before, it is important that workers understand and recognise the value we place in them.”
Paired with their recently launched Walkers Balance programme, an industry-first 4-day working week offering flexible working patterns, Walkers are challenging the prevailing theory that increasing salaries is the only way to attract people into the sector. Walkers’ forward-thinking approach in creating packages that are attractive to current and potential employees has been hailed as a ‘positive step’ for the industry.
