Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd and Yusen Logistics’ together won the IT Innovation category at the Automotive Supply Chain Global Awards last night.
The judges commented:
“Toyota Motor Manufacturing (UK) Ltd with Yusen Logistics have enjoyed a long relationship since the first Carina rolled off the line at Burnaston and ultimately longer, since parent company NYK shipped the machinery for the plant in 1989. The long standing, highly successful relationship between the two companies is testament to their successful system at Burnaston, where they have reduced costs, minimised waste and maximised efficiency. The passion for efficiency and continued innovation from Yusen and Toyota was evident to the judges through their entry, and unparalleled, consistent results. The judges said: “This is an example of the positive results that can be achieved through a true collaboration. Yusen and Toyota have already displayed signs both of positive synergy and that the future holds great scope.”
