Nottinghamshire company, Pendigo which specialises in software systems for haulage and passenger carrying companies was announced winner of the “Best Digital Fleet Management Solutions” category at the Technology Innovator Awards 2016, which was announced on 1st June 2016.
The company has developed a unique solution that will allow paper forms to work in perfect harmony with digital systems and has applied this for use in vehicle management. An earlier version of the system has been in use with Hireco, the trailer rental company for a number of years and this is what they have had to say…
Hireco contracted Pendigo to write a system that could automatically document the service process of our vehicles and inform our operators of work being done without distracting too much from what our vendors were used to. The solution was to use an innovative technology that sent the paperwork electronically in real time into a vehicle management system that Pendigo wrote for us. This system paid for itself within less than 3 months of being delivered and has resulted in a much more efficient process and cost savings to Hireco in excess of £1.4Million per year.
The system has since been extended to automatically take documentation from a scanner at any of our satellite offices and assign it to a vehicle for rapid retrieval by our operators, vendors or our clients. The system is now being extended into Pendigo’s new system where we will also have drag and drop functionality to upload the documents as well as other functionality to make our business even more efficient.
