Following a multi-million pound investment, container haulage company James Kemball has launched a new loaded container storage depot at the Port of Felixstowe with initial capacity in excess of 1600 loaded containers. The new facility will operate from 0600 Monday – 0500 Saturday and extend to Saturday mornings in the New Year.
The five-acre depot, located at Clickett Hill Road in Felixstowe will see James Kemball expand its operations, offering retailers, brands, shipping lines and freight forwarders a container storage solution that boasts state of the art facilities and outstanding customer service levels. It also provides the opportunity to add additional future services for James Kemball customers.
Four new members of staff are already on board at the depot with plans to build this to a team of ten over the coming year.
The company has invested in the latest Kalmar reachstackers, which boast Felixstowe’s largest container weight lifting capacity outside the port. The new depot includes a one acre plot that is available for further development and could provide tailored warehousing facilities for James Kemball clients.
Commenting on the launch of the depot, Commercial Director of James Kemball, Darren Walne said: “This investment is very much part of our overall strategic plan to add value. Not only will it help us to grow our client base but will provide a fantastic new service for current clients and the ability for them to streamline their supply chain and reduce their quay storage costs.
Depot Manager Andy Tattersall adds: “We are immensely proud of our long-standing relationships with our customers and this depot will set new standards of excellence in how we operate, the equipment we use and how we utilise our strongest assets, our people, to provide exceptional customer service in an environmentally friendly and, importantly, safe environment.”
