UK Haulier are backing and are in full support of FairFuelUK! FairFuelUK is a campaign to reduce fuel duty tax in the UK.
FairFuelUK has an objective to stop any further increases in fuel duty during the fiscal year of 2012 and to establish a prime focus to campaign for reductions in fuel taxation in future years.
So far, the campaign has resulted in the net saving in fuel duty achieved between 23/5/2011 and 22/5/2012 is a saving of 9p per litre on every litre of petrol/diesel sold in the UK. This is the combination of
- The cancellation of the 5p rise planned for 1st April 2011 (it was replaced by a 1p cut).
- And the deferment of the 3p rise planned for 1st January 2012.
- Motorists also saved the VAT on this 9p making a total saving to motorists of nearly 11p per litre.
