A regional logistics depot in Milton Keynes, established by Palletways UK, is celebrating its three-year anniversary in business by doubling its pallet volume KPI for the year in just three months.
Palletways Milton Keynes first opened its doors in April 2020 with a team of 22 and a fleet of eight vehicles. Now, general manager, Terry Fouracre, leads an experienced team of 30 and manages a fleet of 18 vans and trucks that service the Milton Keynes, Luton, Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard areas.
Since the launch of the depot three years ago, Palletways Milton Keynes has seen a huge spike in demand for palletised freight across the region, leading to the successful movement of 220,000 pallets in just three months.
Palletways Milton Keynes acts as a European gateway to deliver goods and services on behalf of over 80 customers, eight of which are Palletways UK’s key accounts within the packaging, adhesive and computer technology industries.
Terry said: “This is a huge milestone for us and we’re so proud of how far we’ve come since we opened which was particularly challenging during the pandemic, however now we are busier than ever.
“Our three year anniversary comes at an important time for us as we have recently received ISO and FORS Bronze accreditation which recognises our commitments to good practise and vehicle safety. As well as this we’ve passed numerous Road Haulage Association audits which demonstrates Palletways Milton Keynes’ compliance to industry standards. This is testament to the hard work of everyone involved in the Palletways Milton Keynes family, who day in day out, work hard to deliver excellent customer service.”
Warwick Trimble, network director for Palletways UK, said: “Palletways Milton Keynes has strengthened our network and allowed customers and other members to benefit from an efficient pallet delivery service.
“It is great to see how far the team at Palletways Milton Keynes has come in a short amount of time and that they continue to grow and invest into the local community such as raising money for Barnardo’s at the Routeco Football Tournament and sponsoring family-run motorcycle team Two Daves Racing.”
Commenting on their experience with Palletways Milton Keynes, Richard Furr, after-sales manager at one of its customers, SHS Handling Solutions, said: “We’ve worked closely with Palletways for over a year now and their service is fantastic, we’ve built a lasting relationship with the team and they go above and beyond to make sure all our goods are delivered on time, whatever the volume.”
