New research has revealed that the Coca-Cola truck is considered the most iconic vehicle of the 21st century, according to the British public. Independent research conducted by a courier quote comparison website has revealed the top ten most iconic vehicles, finding that the A-Team van and Batmobile also rank in the top three.
New research has revealed the top ten most iconic vehicles from TV and cinema screens, as voted for by the British public. The Coca-Cola truck topped the charts, coming in first place, followed by the A-Team van and the Batmobile.
The survey, conducted by the courier quote comparison website www.GetVan.co.uk, polled a total of 2,091 British adults as part of the research, all of whom were aged 18 or older with an even split of male and female respondents.
First, the respondents were asked to state all vehicles which they felt were among the most iconic in the 21st century, taking inspiration from the big and small screen. The top ten answers provided by respondents were revealed as follows:
- Coca-Cola Truck – 38%
- Batmobile – 31%
- A-Team Van – 27%
- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang – 26%
- Aston Martin DB5 (James Bond Skyfall) – 21%
- Real Life Mystery Machine (Scooby Doo) – 18%%
- Ecto-1 (Ghostbusters) – 14%
- Love Bug (Herbie) – 13%
- Gran Torino (Starsky & Hutch) – 11%
- Turtles Van – 10%
In addition to these popular responses, further answers of note include Lightning McQueen from the Cars film (5%), Santa’s sleigh (4%) and Cinderella’s carriage (2%).
