Lorry Driver Causes £115,000 of Damage

A 47 year old driver was delivering crates of olive oil to a Waitrose supermarket in Colchester, Essex, when he took the wrong turn in his 30-tonne vehicle.

Residents were left stunned as the Hungarian’s lorry jack-knifed on a tight corner before becoming stuck between Grade 1-listed buildings in the town’s historic Dutch Quarter.

The damage estimation has risen to a staggering £115,000 !!

  • £80,000 of spilled olive oil
  • £15,000 damage to 17th century house
  • £20,000 lorry trailer written off
